Thank you to Justin, Amy, and the rest of the staff at Ballers Arena for a great practice. Sunday’s Finest thanks you for an awesome and fun day of paintball!

Review:

Place is the Ritz Carlton of paintball fields. Super clean parking lots that are paved, convenient location off the 101, I was surprised there wasn’t valet parking and a bell boy to help you with your gear inside! Front desk girl was very nice and helpful with handling our team some time to do our drills. Appreciate that much chica, sorry didn’t get your name

Pricing was fair for an excellent condition and COLD air conditioned facility. Not cool, but polar bear ICE COLD so it was great to play in a very comfortable environment without the sun beating down upon you. It’s more expensive…but you get your money’s worth for the extra deniro it takes to play here, no complaints from me on the price. I know everyone wants $10 entry and $30 a case paint, but it’s paintball guys…costs money to run facilities and staff.

With the no outside food and beverage policy, you have to eat food at Bunker Grill, but the food was reasonable and quite tasty! They got the best homemade potato chips called Baller Chips. Once again, no problem with the food, great meal located in a paintball field with a flat screen TV and Direct TV to watch the sport games.

We will be back almost weekly to do some drills in the some cool air conditioning.

Summer 09 has started

Posted on | May 15, 2009 | No Comments

A lot has been going through my mind in terms of my life and where I stand at age 22 and spring semester of what should be my 4th year of college and graduating at ASU with the Obama fiasco and everything that went on last night at my hometown college of Arizona State University.

Spring 2009 was suppose to be the the ideal, the politically correct, the American Dream of going to college for 4 years to earn a degree, but instead, I sit 2 1/2 years into college with mediocre grades to get me to the places I want to go to and a company called Sunday Paintball, a real estate agent license, and a valet job at a local golf course I have had since high school.

I watch and see friends status updates on Facebook and other social networking sites about them graduating and all that, but I found one common thing in all of the “on-time” graduates…they have not had any work experience in high responsibility positions, if a part time job at all! Where are they going to go for a career or just a job right now with that piece of paper for the moment?

So imagine you are 22 years of age right now, fresh out of the box of college, but you never worked a part time job because to complete school in 4 years, school is your full time job to accomplish a degree these days I feel.  What company will hire me? Will the pay be that much higher than if I had a part time job that had advancement opportunities in college? If companies and employers are laying off people with the same degree and WORK EXPERIENCE, than why will be they willing be hire me, the fresh out of the box college kid that just did nothing but book responsibilities and dedication for the past 4 years instead of real world problems and schedules that are not listed in chronological order on the syllabus that is handed out the first day of class.

I do feel I have missed out on some aspects of college life with choosing not to live on campus or push myself at a college because I felt by at least maintinaing B and C’s in school to get by with the work experience that I am attaining from being an entrenepuer and business man at a young age.  I fight an internal battle of pushing Sunday Paintball more, but that would mean less time to focus on school and completing it. I like the pace more of me just running the website and everything and shipping the products myself, one at a time versus blowing it up to this huge corporate company making t-shirts.

Need you guys just to buy shirts off the site ever so often and give me some for feedback on what you would like to see from me as far as new designs or whatever your thoughts are!

Should I go to a more seasonal line and have a pipeline of new shirt designs that get retired as opposed to the way I keep shirts for over a year or so, that way everyone can see it it and buy it if they have yet to discover Sunday Paintball.

AZPPL and PSP partnership

Posted on | May 15, 2009 | No Comments

Here is a press release from the only league Sunday Paintball sponsors in the form of the local Arizona Paintball Players League, AZPPL

The AZPPL (Arizona Paintball Players League)  is pleased to announce our new partnership with the PSP. With the PSP being the leading National Paintball Format and the AZPPL the leading series in the Southwest it made perfect sense. As we have already been adopting the PSP rules and format it makes for a great marriage.

What does this mean for AZPPL players? It means the AZPPL will be flying in Tim Schroepfer the Ultimate Referee for the PSP to do a ref clinic for all AZPPL referees and anyone else interested. We have some other plans as well to improve the caliber of reffing in the AZPPL and will have more details on that shortly.

It also means the PSP has generously signed on as sponsor for the 2009 AZPPL season. The PSP will be offering prizes for event 3 at Disruptive paintball. Being that the AZPPL’s final event will fall after World Cup we will be using the Tucson event as a great way to earn your ticket to the largest paintball event in the world the PSP World Cup.

Premier League PSP Prizes- Half off Divisional Entry Fee for PSP World Cup

5 Man Prizes- Free Entry Fee for any 5 man division at PSP World Cup

We will also be awarding the most improved team award which will receive either a free 5 man entry or half off divisional entry.

We look forward to seeing every one at Disruptive Paintball for event 3. Thank you again for your continued support to make the AZPPL the largest paintball tournament series in the South West.

Regards,

Ryan Bosch
AZPPL President

Is paintball a hobby or a job?

Posted on | April 28, 2009 | No Comments

I always arise at a difficult road every season of playing paintball. There is a competitor in all us to be the best we can be at something. As we know, paintball takes much time and practice at a high level to be consistently good. With all that practice and time comes a lot of money and dedication to paintball that might conflict with other activities that a teenager or young adult might be missing out on.

I remember when all I shrived to do was play national tournaments and see places and play paintball. I would not go out at all Saturday nights so I wouldn’t have an excuse of a hangover or staying out too late. I would spend those nights changing batteries out in my gun and watching paintball movies usually by myself unless some of my buddies or girlfriend at the time would. The phone would ring with invites to parties and other social events, but I would decline almost 95% of the time just so I could play paintball to the best of my ability the following day.

I would save up a lot of money and start Sunday Paintball to be able to afford to be part of a national traveling paintball team. A lot of money and time went into playing nationally. I had a blast and loved the experiences, but I still get almost the same adrenaline rush just playing once a week at the local field and forming a team to play local and regional paintball tournaments. I would like our team to be able to compete with many national teams, but our commitment to practicing more than once a week are slim to none and the money is already an issue for a good amount of members of our team. I guess I just have fun playing the game every Sunday, but that competitive drive to be the best team and all that still has a little spot left in me. Its hard to come to terms with your decisions, but in the end playing with your friends every weekend and sharing stories is probably the best medicine in the end.

I guess I all I am saying is play for what makes you happy. If paintball becomes a burden or a feels like a job you don’t like going to, it’s time to readjust how you play the game and at what commitment level.  If it’s a job to you instead of a hobby, then your not enjoying the sport to it’s full potential in my opinion.

About Sunday Paintball

Sunday Paintball was created in April of 2004 in Scottsdale, Arizona by Mickey or aka Mr. Sunday Paintball, with the vision of a young 17 year old entrepreneur to create a casual clothing label for the sport he has dedicated his life to since the age of 13.

The first shirts were the creation of a final project in screen printing class in Mickey's junior year of high school. Selling the shirts out of his backpack at local fields was only the beginning in this venture.

Mickey quickly learned how to make designs using basic knowledge of graphic arts and screen printing. Mickey has developed his own blend of style and tastes into the shirts that cannot be duplicated. The Sunday Paintball brand is one that means something more than a shirt, it's the lifestyle behind it.

That lifestyle has been created through the long journey down the paintball road for Mickey and his Sunday Paintball Company. From basic word of mouth and stickers, Sunday Paintball would not be where it is at without it's strong following of Sunday Killers. These are true ballers that share the vision and the laid-back mentality of Mickey and Sunday Paintball.

There will always be one Sunday Paintball and one Mr. Sunday Paintball.

Long Live Sunday Paintball
